Spring is LOUD!

Happy Spring!

Chirping, tweeting, trilling, skittering, honking, thwacking, buzzing- an orchestra was taking place around me as I sat outside trying to meditate. It wasn’t soft or subtle, it was LOUD! I would even call it boisterous. It’s as if there was a great celebration happening.

What were they celebrating?

Spring!

I could almost hear them saying, “We made it!”

I’m not going to lie, I share their sense of relief and even accomplishment. It’s been a rough one, heavy on all fronts- mentally, physically, emotionally, & spiritually.

And although that doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon, I believe nature is trying to show us that we can and should celebrate that we have come from there to here. That’s not a small thing and it deserves some acknowledgment!

So here we are, spring has sprung! Renewal is in the air and maybe even a sense of hope. The flowers are beginning to bloom, baby animals are being born, and the warmth of the sun is getting stronger. We can use the energy of this season to cultivate our own renewal.

Have you heard the concept of “be like water”? I’ve come across it a couple times now from different sources, but the idea is that when flowing water is blocked, it finds another route to keep moving.

It’s creative and powerful. It moves things that are moveable. It finds a new way.

So, I invite you to take some time to think about this in your own life. Get out a piece of paper and answer these questions:

First celebrate…

What have I accomplished, learned, or processed through to get here

Name it all, don’t leave out the small things!

What isn’t working anymore?

Think about your schedule, your eating habits, the amount of movement you are getting, your career, a relationship, your self-care in general, your living space.

What needs to move out of the way?

Consider clutter in your home/space, obligations that are absorbing your energy and not giving equally in return, screen/social media time, worry about things you don’t have control over, negative self-talk.

What areas of my life need renewal?

Reflect on your health, career, education, relationships, joy level, creativity, finances, your home/environment, spirituality.

What creative ways can I implement to move in the direction I want to go?

Maybe commit to just one new habit, take a class/training, reach out to a friend you haven’t talked to in awhile, meditate or find a technique to reduce stress (yoga? ;), get outside, say NO when you want to.

What support or help do I need so I will be successful?

Delegate tasks that don’t NEED to be done by you, tell someone what you are trying to change and ask them to be your accountability buddy, structure out your schedule to include your new activity and treat it like a “have to”, hire a life or wellness coach. (I happen to know someone ;)

It’s a new season friends, a new chance, so be boisterous in your celebrating, find renewal where you most need it and “be like water” whenever you can to keep your life flowing!

Most of all know that you are amazing and the world is a better place because you are here!

Sending you so much love and light!

Namaste,
Victoria
